The Spanish + Scottish Law Practice, regulated by the Law Society of Scotland, is an international legal firm uniquely qualified to provide legal advice and services in both Spanish Law and Scots Law to individuals and companies operating in Scotland and Spain.
The Spanish + Scottish Law Practice has its origins in Chanza Abogados, a family practice established in 1930 in Valencia, Spain, which specialized in property and company law. In 2009, Ignacio Chanza, Partner of this firm, moved to Scotland and qualified in Scottish Law in 2013. Following his qualification, he started working as a Consultant for James & George Collie LLP, Aberdeen, with full practising certificates in Spain and Scotland.
In 2012, Ignacio was honoured to be appointed by the Spanish Government as Honorary Consul of Spain for the North of Scotland.
The Spanish + Scottish Law Practice was formed by Ignacio in 2017 to provide independent Spanish legal advice in Scotland to individuals and companies specifically wanting access to a Spanish lawyer who is also qualified in Scottish Law. We are the first and the only Law firm dedicated to providing Spanish legal services “under one roof” in Scotland and Spain with a fully-qualified legal team in both areas of law.
The Spanish + Scottish Law Practice is a trading name of Chanza Jordan Law Limited, registered number 56053 in the Law Society of Scotland; a company with liability limited by share incorporated in Scotland under number SO582886 and having its registered office at 1 East Craibstone Street, Aberdeen, AB11 6YQ.
In our Valencia office only advice on Spanish law is provided.
